I plan on getting more done on this warrior before moving on, with a hold-up being mid-terms booked after this Thanksgiving weekend.
One of the races associated with the ULR - a fan-made faction for Warhammer 40,000. Draci are unique - they're relatively young in comparison to most other races in the universe (save for the Tau of course), they're the tallest in the ULR and are built on a hexapedal frame.
As a brief summary, this guy pretty much slagged a chaos space marine of an unknown unit with an arc-plasma rifle, effectively boiling the scum inside the fallen astartes' ancient armour. Due to combat issues and related implications, in-service draci warriors have their wings removed via quantum nanotechnology before donning their armour (in layman's terms, the wing structure and everything surrounding it is replaced by cybernetic outlets while the wings themselves are converted into data for future replacement). This is usually replaced with a neural-linked gravity pack - a man-portable hovering device that is the spiritual successor to the ubiquous jetpack.
Just so you guys know, that is not a single eye - that is in fact two eyes (the inspiration came from Resistance: Fall of Man).
Arc-plasma rifle, draci, and United Liberate Republic are (c) ~ChapterAquila92 Chaos space marine, Warhammer 40,000 are (c) Games Workshop
More or less before undergoing combat operations, using their technology. The lack of wings is beneficial for them in combat since they would be the most vulnerable parts of their bodies, as well as make them larger targets in the air than would be tactically desired.
Interestingly enough, the same process can be used to turn an individual into an AI and back.
It is technically a fan-made crossover universe, combining aspects of Halo and Warhammer. The draci are pretty much the only original species in this universe.
Wow! I can definitely say that you really put a lot of effort into this sketch! I remember you saying that you had a bit of trouble working on the chestplate, but it looks like you took your time on it. Same with the legs too! ^..^
Indeed, the main issue I had was figuring out how to give the chestplate some form so that it didn't look 2-dimensional. I will admit that the legs were a lot of fun to try and work out, given the pose I wanted this guy to be in.
Hmm... so they turn their wings into pure energy and store it when they don their armour?
