Not much is known about the origins of the creature named Gabriel Strauss. The first sighting of this bizarre xeno was during a conflict between Imperial forces and a Tau Expeditionary Force, during which the two factions put aside their differences in the advent of a Chaos incursion. It as then later on that Strauss, who was part of the expeditionary force at the time, chose to leave the Tau auxiliary and, in a surprise move, requested to be enlisted amongst the Imperial Guard. This in turn made Strauss a prime candidate for supplementing the Ordo Xenos.

During the conflict, it became clear that Strauss was extremely powerful in psychic ability, rivalling the power of a beta-class psyker, in addition to incredible feats of fighting prowess. Even more remarkable was the fact that despite being untrained, Strauss showed no signs of insanity or corruption by the Ruinous Powers. This is currently under investigation by the Inquisitors of the Ordo Xenos.

Strauss may be included in a 1500pt army and takes up an HQ choice.

Special Rules
Fleet of foot: Strauss may move an extra D6” instead of fire during his shooting phase.

Hard to Kill: Despite what his appearance might tell, Strauss is not likely to be kept down by heavy fire. Strauss receives a +1 toughness when determining Instant Death (This has already been included in his profile).

Taste for Combat: Strauss is known to get into a blood-frenzy when in combat. If Strauss inflicts at least one wound during an assault and the assaulted unit falls back, he must make a sweeping advance. If the assaulted unit is destroyed, he must move towards the nearest enemy unit if at all possible.

Independent Character: Strauss in an independent character and follows all of the rules for characters in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook

Psyker: Strauss is a beta-level psyker who counts as having a psychic hood and has the Storm of the Emperor’s Wrath and Hammerhand psychic powers.

Pure of Mind: Strauss' ability as a powerful beta-level psyker is made even more lethal due in part to his defiance to the whims of the Warp, despite being untrained. Strauss may re-roll for psychic tests, but must accept the second roll.

Bolter Rounds: Due in part to his connection with the Ordo Xenos, Strauss has access to Stalker, Kraken, Hellfire, Inferno and Metal Storm bolts.

Hellfire rounds consist of thousands of needles full of mutagenic acid encased in a ceramic shell. Irrespective of the Toughness of the target, a Hellfire round always wounds on a 2+.

Inferno rounds consist of a bolt with its core replaced with an oxy-phosphorus gel that ignites on detonation. An attack made with this round ignores cover saves.

Kraken penetrator rounds are designed to punch through armour like a knife through rice paper. This round option allows the wielder to roll 2D6 when penetrating armour, in addition to the rending special rule.

Metal Storm fragmentation rounds shower an area with shrapnel upon detonation. A unit that has been struck by such a round must make a pinning test as they duck for cover from flying metal shards.

Stalker silenced shells are bolts specifically designed with stealth in mind, using gas cartridges in place of a propellant and charge. In Scenarios where sentries are involved, the wielder only raises the alarm on a 6.
